Oh boy, how about 2020, huh? What a wonderful year for marketing! As we all know, everything was shut down. Spring was hard, summer was difficult… but as the holiday season approached - people really started losing it. The first holiday up on the slab? Halloween, of course!

Now, for every Halloween fanatic (hello, me), there are multitudes of events and activities to enjoy the scary season - and at the top of that list is haunted houses. As someone who worked in a haunted house (once upon a time), I personally felt the fear of missing out in 2020.

 

Thankfully, Wendy’s stepped in.

We had one covid-friendly tool in our belt - the drive thru. So, our team thought, “hell, why not bring the haunted house to Wendy’s? Even better - why not make the competition our terrifying main characters?”

Cue 3 days of FIVE HOUR LONG drive thru lines and one Gold Reggie Award for Seasonal Marketing!
